MAILKOMET
Privacy notice
Version 1, November 2026
Who we are
Mailkomet is run by ANGVIS LTD, a company registered in England and Wales, number 12763866, 61 Bridge Street, Kington, HR5 3DJ, United Kingdom. For anything about your personal data, write to support@mailkomet.com.
Two kinds of people
Mailkomet customers (people with a Mailkomet login): we decide how your data is used. This notice covers it in full.
Subscribers (people on a newsletter's list): the newsletter that collected your address decides how it is used, and its own privacy notice applies. Every email and sign-up page names the newsletter's sender and links its notice. Mailkomet stores and sends on the newsletter's behalf and follows its instructions. To unsubscribe, use the link in any email; for anything else, write to the newsletter first. You can also write to us.
What we keep
- Customers: your email address and name, your password (stored by our login provider as a hash, never in plain text), your account's settings and plan, the newsletters and issues you write, and records of what you did that affect sending (for example imports and the consent statement you confirmed).
- Subscribers: your email address, your name if you gave it, tags the newsletter added, and the record of your consent: the wording you saw, when you signed up and when you confirmed, a keyed hash of your network address and a hash of your browser's identifier at both steps. We do not keep the network address itself.
- Sending records: which issue was sent to you and whether it was delivered, bounced, reported as spam, opened, clicked or led to an unsubscribe. For opens and clicks we keep only yes or no, never your network address or device.
- Addresses that bounced or were reported as spam are kept as a one-way hash so that no newsletter on Mailkomet emails them again.
Why, and on what legal basis
- To provide the service you signed up for (contract).
- To keep the service secure, stop abuse and spam, and keep email deliverable for everyone (our legitimate interests).
- To keep records the law requires, such as accounts and tax records (legal obligation).
- For subscribers, on the newsletter's behalf and on its legal basis, which for sign-up forms is your consent.
Who helps us
- Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES, London region) sends the emails.
- Supabase stores the database and runs logins (London region).
- Cloudflare hosts the website and app, runs our DNS, routes our email and checks forms for bots.
- Google hosts the mailbox that receives our support email.
When paid plans start, Stripe will handle payments; this notice will say so before it happens. Where a provider handles data outside the United Kingdom, it does so under the safeguards UK law approves, such as the International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses.
How long
- Account data: while your account exists, and up to 30 days after you delete it, except records we must keep by law.
- Sign-up requests that were never confirmed: deleted 7 days after the link expired.
- Delivery records used for bounce and complaint handling: 90 days. Open and click links in an email: they stop counting after 400 days.
- Unsubscribes, and hashes of bounced or reported addresses: kept for as long as needed to make sure you are not emailed again.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how it is used, and ask for it in a portable format. Write to support@mailkomet.com; we answer within one month. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
mailkomet.com sets only the cookies needed to keep you logged in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies. Emails sent through Mailkomet measure opens with a small image and clicks with a redirect, as described above.
